Drivers who complete the Empire Safety Council's 6-hour defensive driving course save 10% on their liability, personal injury protection, and collision insurance for THREE YEARS and make you eligible to reduce FOUR POINTS on your driving record.  Course completion is transmitted to the Department of Motor Vehicles and recorded on each students driving record.  Adventure into traffic safety awareness.  Course involves student participation, an informative workbook, and safety education films.  There is no formal testing. 

Tuition:   $30.00 per person for Local 301 members and their family. 

Two three-hour sessions:   Tuesday, September 23, 2008 (3:30-6:30 p.m.)

                                                      Thursday, September 25, 2008 (3:30-6:30 p.m.)

OR

One six-hour session:           Saturday, September 27, 2008 (9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.)

Our Annual Clam Bake took place on August 9th in Clifton Park.  Almost six hundred enjoyed a beautiful day filled with fun, food and camaraderie.  We thank all who attended and  look forward to another record breaking event next year. 

On Saturday, September 6, 2008 we will be traveling to NYC to see the New York Mets take on their nemesis the Philadelphia Phillies.  The bus will leave the Union Hall at 10AM for the 3:55PM game and return 1/2 hour after the conclusion of the contest. $70.00 will get you a ticket to the game, transportation, lunch and beverages on the bus.  Come join us for a game that stands to be an important one for both teams as they head into the final weeks of the season!

On April 17 2008, the Local 301 Pensioners held their annual rally in front of the Edison Avenue Gate of the General Electric Company in Schenectady.  It was attended by hundreds of pensioners and current members of Local 301.  A strong message of solidarity was sent to the company:    

                "DON'T FORGET OUR PENSIONERS!"
